C. Cornell Evers is an independent Dutch writer, photographer and curator with
over 25 years experience in the South-American Amazon area. In Brazil
he works with local artists on projects about the future of Amazônia
concerning sustainability and the vital signs from the region.
 

In
2007 Cornell Evers initiated cooperation between Foundation
StadsSpelen in Amsterdam and the Peladão in Manaus, capital of the
Brazilian Amazon state Amazonas. The Peladão is the biggest amateur
football competition in the world. On Amsterdam Day 2007 C. Cornell
Evers presented a group of photographers from Manaus in an exhibition
entitled: ‘FOOTBALL AND QUEENS IN THE RAINFOREST
